Marathon2500 - the commemoration of the 2,500-year anniversary of the Battle of Marathon - begins tonight, Tuesday, September 28 at 5:30pm ET at New York University's Center for Ancient Studies.

Professor Paul Cartledge, Hellenic Parliament Global Distinguished Professor in the History and Theory of Democracy at NYU and A.G. Leventis Chair of Greek Culture at Cambridge University, kicks off our yearlong commemoration.

You may still register either to attend live at NYU or to connect via webinar from anywhere in the world.

Free registration and information here: http://Marathon2500-1.eventbrite.com

Join over 50 universities, colleges, high schools and libraries from the University of Bologna in Italy to Oxford in England to the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, the Marshall-Lyon Public Library in Marshall, Minnesotta and many others.

And thanks again to our sponsors - from the Embassy of Greece to Citrix Online to the NYU Center for Ancient Studies (and Squarespace - the web platform that Marathon2500.org sits on).
